Sean Arthur Tonner, 41, of New Windsor, New York, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Sean was born at Nyack Hospital on July 14, 1979 to John and Annamay Tonner. He grew up in Pearl River, New York and attended St. Margaret’s School and Pearl River High School. He went on to study Audio Engineering at the Institute of Audio Research.
Sean loved nature and the outdoors. His love of travel took him to many places throughout his life. He found great joy in entertaining his family and friends with his music and many stories. He was never far from his guitar or his beloved cat, Ophelia.
Sean was a Peer Outreach Coordinator at Hudson Valley Community Services. He found tremendous peace in sharing his own life experiences and using them to support those in need. He often spoke to people who were dealing with addiction about his own battles and how he overcame them. His courage in sharing his story gave others hope.
Sean is survived by his father John; his sister Tara, her husband Michael, and their daughter Molly; his sister Sheila, her husband Jason, and their daughter Emma; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Annamay.
