Scott Dykstra

Obituary of Scott Allen Dykstra

Born August 11, 1958 to Allen and Marilynn Dykstra from Monsey NY. Scotty enjoyed hunting, fishing and good time rock n roll. Scotty would always greet you with a smile and it made you feel like you were always in the presence of an extraordinarily gifted, talented and caring individual to his family and friends. Scotty was a beloved brother to his two younger sisters MariEllyn Thurston-Donnellan and Lynn-(Allan) Beers and loving uncle to James(Angela and Bella) Thurston and Christopher Beers. Scotty was a second generation florist with his sisters at A. Dykstra Florist in Chestnut Ridge NY. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and SUNY Cobilskill with an AAS in botany and floral culture in 1979. Scotty immediately entered the family business after graduation. Scotty would always listen to what you had to say and give it back with a good sense of humor. His charm and cunning ability to make you feel welcomed was always a pleasure. We will truly miss these qualities of such an outstanding man. Visiting hours will be at Sorce Assumma and Shankey Funeral Home 34 N. Summit Street Pearl River, NY 10965 845-735-4849
