Obituary of Gerald J. Freel
April 21, 1942 - November 9, 2019
Loving husband, son, father, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 52 years, Mary, and his loving children and grandchildren, son Michael and his wife Pamala, his son Chris and his wife Erie, and his daughter Kerrry and her husband Michael and his two grandsons Gregory and Matthew, and his St. Margaret's parish community.
Gereld grew up in the Bronx with his loving parents, Margaret and John and sister Carolyn. He attended St. Helena's.
Gerald served in the Construction Battalion of the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He graduated at the top of his apprentice program and worked for 40 years in NYC as an electrician with Local 3.
Gerald loved teaching his children in many ways: from math tricks and finances, to Cub Scouts and baseball and softball.
He loved wearing Hawaiian shirts, telling "Dad" jokes and solving sudoku. He played Chess and Bridge, attaining the rank of Ruby Life Master. Gerald and his wife loved going to shows, dining out, and visiting family. His two grandsons could do no wrong in his eyes.
