Obituary of Ann Nesnadny

Ann Nesnadny (nee Myroncuk) died peacefully at home on January 8, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She was born May 4, 1920 in New York City to Julia and Mike Myroncuk .  She was one of nine children.

Ann moved with her family to a farm in New Egypt, NJ, near Fort Dix.  Along with her brothers and sisters she tended the animals and gardens.  The family later ran a café for the soldiers at Fort Dix, where she met the love of her life Frank Nesnadny.  In 1943 she travelled to Washington state where Frank was stationed in the Army, and they were married.  After the war they settled in Tarrytown NY where Frank’s family lived.  There they raised their family and enjoyed many parties and Sunday suppers with extended family and friends.  Every summer the family spent time with Ann’s family in New Egypt, NJ.

Ann remained in Tarrytown until after Frank’s death, when she moved in with her son in Pomona, NY.  She enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, game shows, and being surrounded by her family.

Ann is survived by her daughter Judith Heins (Herbert Jr.) and son Joseph (Mary), Grandson Herbert Heins III (Heather),granddaughter Diane Hayden, and great granddaughters Kate, Emily, and Brooke Heins and Krystal Hayden.  She was predeceased in 2004 by her husband Frank, as well as all of her siblings, their spouses, and her in-laws.  Her last days were made more comfortable by the care she received from her aide Katie, to whom the family is very grateful.

Viewing will be 10am Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 34 N. Summit Ave., Pearl River, NY 10965, followed by Mass at noon at the Church of St. Gregory Barbarigo, , 21 Cinder Road, Garnerville NY 10923.  Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
