Obituary of Annette DeMoro

Annette DeMoro (DiPillo) of Nanuet, NY, 83 years young, passed away with peace and dignity on February 23rd, 2021. Annette was a Bronx native moved to Yonkers in 1985 and thereafter became a Nanuet resident in 1999 to help take care of her grandchildren.
She was born on June 3rd, 1937 to Regina and Frank DiPillo. She attended Walton High School and married the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) DeMoro, on November 19th, 1955.  Aside from her devotion to raising her children, she worked as a dental assistant as well as a secretary at CATV in the Bronx. Annette was a devout Catholic, a member of the secular Franciscan Third Order, and active parishioner at St. Anthony’s in Nanuet.  She enjoyed cooking, playing piano, painting and most importantly her adoring family. Her greatest achievement in life was the legacy she leaves behind which includes eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Tony; her son Domenick (and daughter in-law Christianne); her daughter Antoinette Flynn (and son-in law Sean) as well as her sister Ginger Orlando and many nieces and a nephew. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Mary Regina Kustin and son-in-law Robert Kustin.

Annette will forever be remembered for her generosity, kindness, caring, and encouragement to all she came to know.  Her beautiful artwork hangs on the walls of family, friends, doctors, and other admirers. Annette’s classical piano music once filled Carnegie Hall.  Her cooking was captured in a family recipe book, and often the coveted gift of many a neighbor.  Annette will always be known for her selfless giving to all she encountered, sharing her faith in God and offering hope to many. We have referred to as the ‘Steel Rose’, and her legacy will forever be ‘Undying Love’.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 27th from 9-11 AM at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 11:30 AM, at St. Anthony’s Church, Nanuet NY, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
