Obituary of William Pitcher
William Francis Pitcher passed away in Columbus, Georgia on March 6, 2021 after a short illness. He was 81 years old.
William “Willie” Pitcher was born in the Bronx, NY on Valentine’s Day 1940 to Howard Henry Pitcher and Nora Pitcher (nee Dwyer). Although he spent his final decade living in the South, he was a proud life-long New Yorker. Willie spent his career as a plumber … at times working with his brothers in a family owned plumbing company. Willie was a colorful person who lead a colorful life. Also, he had a passion for animals, especially dogs. Willie was married twice. He was widowed from Marilyn Pitcher (nee Fox) at the time of his death,
He is survived by his son, Michael Pitcher (Suzanne), step-daughter, Theresa Whitton, brother, Wayne Pitcher, grandchildren Jake Pitcher, Hailey Pitcher, and Billy Whitton, and a number of nieces and nephews including Eric D’Antonio, Patrice Romano-Santiago (Carlos), Marc D’Antonio (Catherine) and many great-nieces and nephews including Katherine D’Antonio and John D’Antonio.
Visitation and service will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. on March 24, 2021 at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 34 N Summit St., Pearl River, NY with a burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY
