Obituary of Emery J. DeVito

Emery Joseph De Vito, 78, of Nanuet, NY, passed away on 4-12-21 in Allendale NJ.

Emery was born in the Bronx to Amerigo and Lucy DeVito on 3-20-43. He went to high school at Dewitt Clinton High School all boy school and graduated in 1961. He worked as an Owner of Doughboys moving and storage for 25 years with his father where he was involved in many large moves. Later he worked in security at the Greenpoint bank in Lake Success NY. He enjoyed going to Yankees games and collecting many memorable items related to the Yankees. He was President of the Nanuet Ambulance Corp in 1983 and a lifetime member.

Emery is survived by his children Joe and Dawn DeVito of Nanuet NY. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Joey, Meaghan, and Julia DeVito, His nephews Ray, Diane and son Brian, Frank, Bonnie, and sons Michael, Andrew, Daniel and baby Levi. Charlie,Steven and Kristine.Cousins Margret and Jackie.He is preceded in death by his Mother Lucy, father Amerigo, and three sisters Sally,Annette,Virginia, husband Vincent, son Richard and daughter Jeannine.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Valley Hospital, Allendale assisted living and Valley hospice for alltheir support through this difficult time.

Emery will be missed by all he has touched in his life. He will forever be in our hearts.

Funeral service will be held at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church on April 15,2021  at 11:30AM.

Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven  Cemetery 10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532.

 Visitation will be held at the Joseph W. Sorce FH, Inc.,  34 N Summit St, Pearl River, NY 10965 (845) 735-4849  on on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 6:30PM-9:00PM.
