Edward Robert Cosentino, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday night, surrounded by the love of his wife Candy, daughter Amanda, and his dog Homer.
Over his working years he drove big rigs, trucks, school buses, and concrete trucks, a job that gave him an opportunity to be involved in the new TZ Bridge construction
He loved to talk about history, travel, hike the National Parks, and drive his Jeep.He hiked Yosemite, Muir Woods, parts of the Appalachian Trail and sailed around NY Harbor…He volunteered at Hi Tor and when he couldn’t walk the dogs anymore he volunteered at the Stony Point Battlefield where he spent a lot of time making the grounds look beautiful. He was proud of everything he did, whether it was a home improvement project, a Battlefield project, or a really good batch of spaghetti sauce and a good wine find. His jokes could stump even the biggest skeptics and he will be remembered for his enormous sense of humor, his hard work, and his love for his family.
His last big project was helping to improve the grounds at the Stony Point Battlefield and in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in his name for that site. https://parks.ny.gov/natural-heritage-trust/support-state-parks.aspx , or a donation in his name to United Hospice of Rockland, for the extraordinary care Ed received.
